Analysis gone wrong

In his article Count the zigzags (April 16), AG Noorani has stated that Kashmir can now be settled in a manner acceptable to all, if India were to make concessions to Pakistan.

In his article Count the zigzags (April 16), AG Noorani has stated that Kashmir can now be settled in a manner acceptable to all, if India were to make concessions to Pakistan. Ironically, the day he attacked the BJP in his article, Defence Minister AK Antony said “progress in dialogue depends on Pakistan dismantling its terrorist infrastructure”. Noorani should realise that propaganda can’t pass off as analysis.

Family values

The recent shootout at the Virginia Tech University is a direct result of the destruction of the institution of family in the US. The family nurtures its members so they grow into mature and responsible individuals who are important for a healthy social order. The erosion of the family results in maladjusted people.

Wives and lovers

This refres to the report Married woman can live with her lover (April 19). The Rajasthan High Court dismissed the habeas corpus petition of the husband of the married woman who is living with her lover. The law of the land regulates marital behaviour. Once a person enters into a lawful relationship through marriage, his or her free will is governed by the law. To live with a lover while married is socially wrong and illegal.

Wedding hype

It is unfortunate that the media are concentrating only on increasing their TRP ratings. Most of the channels are telecasting the Abhishek-Aishwarya Rai wedding ceremony throughout the day as if there is no other issue of significance to the country.
