The glam world’s not just for the teenagers or, young lasses. To prove this, 62 contestants are taking a shot at the Mrs Lucknow title at a show to be organised by ‘Srot’ on Saturday.
Chhavi Prakash says, “It’s a good platform for women. My daughter also accompanies me to practice sessions. It’s for women who are of substance.”
Adds, Om Kumari Singh that it’s the perfect chance for women to walk the ramp again after getting married. Shweta wants to make her husband proud and live up to her father’s expectations. “I also want to showcase Lucknow wherever I go.” For Shilpi Daga, once a renowned model from Lucknow, this is a chance for her to return to modelling after marriage. Former ‘Miss IIT’ Sharmishtha Singh also agrees. One of the organisers, Tanya says, “We had these very pretty women to choose from for the finalists and it was really tough. The winner of course gets to go to Mrs India contest.”
It is amazing to see the talented women who are creating waves and out to prove that marriage may not be the end of a girl’s personal ambitions any longer. Definitely not with the husbands cheering and in-laws egging them on!
