Even as the Rajasthan Congress is on the defensive over rape allegations against its minister Babulal Nagar, who resigned on Thursday, another party MLA was accused on Friday of sexual exploitation by a woman.
Udai Lal Anjana, MLA from Nimbahera, in Chittor has been accused by 45-year-old woman of sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marrying her.
The woman, a resident of Mundwa, 70 km from Ajmer, approached the additional district court seeking a case against Anjana. The court ordered the Mundwa police to register a case of sexual exploitation against Anjana who is married.
According to victim’s advocate Mahavir Vishnoi, “Additional District Judge ordered to register a case against the accused MLA Anjana under section, 376 (rape), 313 (to force abortion against the will of woman), 315 (to kill a newborn), 370 (illegal confinement), 384 (threatening life) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to the complaint submitted to the court by the victim, she came in contact with Anjana in 1984 when she was staying with her sister while brother-in-law at Chhoti Sadri (Chittor) where her brother-in-law was posted as tehsildar.
They were in contact since then and Anjana first had physical relations with her on May 5,1988, his birthday, the victim alleged.
She said he continued the physical relationship, promising that he would marry her. The victim said Anjana even took her to a temple and married her there but did not publicly accept her as his wife.
During this period, she was forced to abort three times, she claimed. She also produced on court around 1000 love letters written to her by Anjana, some of them on his official letterhead.
