Anshu, Shruti win music contest

ANSHU SHRIVASTAVA of Bhopal and Shruti Sharma of Ujjain won the first prize in the senior and junior categories in the State-level light music competition organised as part of Lata Mangeshkar Alankaran Samaroh, the results for which were announced here today.

ANSHU SHRIVASTAVA of Bhopal and Shruti Sharma of Ujjain won the first prize in the senior and junior categories in the State-level light music competition organised as part of Lata Mangeshkar Alankaran Samaroh, the results for which were announced here today.

Deputy Commissioner Vandana Vaid said that the competition was held in two categories - the senior category for age group of 16 to 25 years and junior group for the age group of 8 to 15 years.

A total of 28 participants competed for the prestigious competition. In the senior category Avdesh Pratap Singh of Sagar and Aditya Singh Gaur of Bhopal bagged the second and third prize. Anshu, the winner in this category, was given a cash prize of Rs 15,000, the second prizewinner got Rs 10,000 and the third Rs 5,000.

In the junior category, Shrushti Balvapuri of Bhopal and Jayant Singh Chouhan of Indore won the second and third positions. In this category winner of the first prize Shruti received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 while the second and third prizewinners received Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
