Acting on the orders of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the state vigilance organisation (SVO) on Thursday began simultaneous raids at the premises of six senior state officials in Jammu and Srinagar.

The raids were conducted on the homes of five engineers and a senior official of the state floriculture department in both the capitals of the state.

"The raids are continuing at 15 different premises belonging to these officials and so far ill gotten wealth worth crores (tens of millions) of rupees has been unearthed," a top official said.

"It will take sometime to conclude the raids and formulate the details of the wealth unearthed, both immovable and movable," he added.
