A MEETING of the Central Anti-Ragging Committee constituted by the Higher Education Department of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development as per directives of Supreme Court will be held in Bhopal on February 12.
The State Higher Education Department has solicited suggestions to curb ragging from intelligentsia in the State till February 9 so that relevant suggestions could be put forth during the meeting where detailed discussions will be held on effective ways to curb ragging.
Representatives of universities, colleges and students’ organisations will be participating in the meeting that will begin at 10.30 am at Hotel Ashok Lake View.
During the meeting, recommendations and suggestions of the apex court and the notification of the Government of India in this regard will especially be discussed. A seven-member team of the Union HRD Ministry will be participating apart from registrars of all universities, hostel wardens of all government colleges and representatives of recognised students’ unions.
Higher Education Commissioner S N Mishra has urged aware citizens to send across their suggestions. Suggestions can be given in written form at the office of the Commissioner of Higher Education at Satpura Bhavan in Bhopal till February 9 or can be sent through fax on number 0755-2551574.
