Justifying the construction of cricket stadiums in different parts of the state after getting land on lease, Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur, who is also the HP Cricket Association chief, said whatever he had done was done under the law of land rules mentioned therein.
Thakur said this while addressing a public meeting at Mair village of the district on Saturday in connection with his “Jan jagran” campaign to prepare for the Lok Sabha elections. He said he was not bothered about the inquiries being conducted against him and the HPCA. He said the Congress government was bent upon harming the cause of the players by resorting to mean tactics.
The BJP MP said the action of the state government to take over the control of the stadiums during the night hours showed the feudal nature of the chief minister and his courtier. He said he had full faith in the law and the judiciary and would come out scot-free and would get back the control of the stadiums.
He alleged that forces of feudalism and dictatorship were ruling the state and harassing their opponents. However, it would not run longer as the people were actively watching the activities closely and would give a teething reply to the Congress during the next Lok Sabha elections.
He said while poor were feeling the pinch of the price rise and shortage of essential commodities and other items, the rulers were having a sound sleep and moving from one place to another for enjoyment.
Anurag said everybody had the right to say his viewpoint in a democratic set-up. However, in Himachal Pradesh, the democracy was on peril and those expressing their views were being implicated in false cases.
Thakur, who is also the All-India president of the BJYM, the youth wing of the BJP, said the party was poised to win the majority seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections with the help of its allies and once again form its government at the Centre. He said people were upset with the Congress for its anti-people role and would overturn the apple cart of the Congress in the next elections.
He claimed that a pro-BJP wave was sweeping across the state and the party was in position to win all four seats in the next Lok Sabha elections from the state.
