The Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh today condemned the vandalism done by advocates belonging to Telangana region in the name of agitation.
The advocates belonging to Telangana region have been agitating for the last three days in support of their demands including 42 per cent reservation in judicial posts.
The agitations have paralysed the court proceedings. "It was unfortunate that under the guise of agitation, some of the advocates were resorting to damage the furniture and equipments in the court halls. It is also observed that the agitators have thrown books and abused judges and the staff, which was viewed seriously by the Council", Chairman of
Bar Council of AP, A Narasimha Reddy said in a statement here.
Appealing the advocates participating in the agitation not to indulge in such activities, Reddy said it was nothing but interfering with the smooth functioning of the administration of justice.
He also said the action of the agitators was contrary to the provisions of the Advocates' Act, 1961.
