Mir Kazim Ali Khan, the student from Hyderabad, now recuperating from a vicious racist attack at Melbourne, would be soon united with his family.
Following a plea from the Khans, Andhra Pradesh government has decided to sponsor the air tickets as well as the stay of two members of his family including his mother during their forthcoming visit to Australia.
Ali Khan, the son of retired police inspector, is currently doing a two year course in hotel management at Melbourne. Last week he was beaten up black and blue by two people with Caucasian features while returning to his flat after a hair cut.
The state government also announced that the government was ready to provide medical help to the injured student at Hyderabad if he chose to return to seek treatment.
Family sources said that Kazim mother and brother would fly to Australia next week. They have secured a passport under tatkal scheme with help from state officials.
Meanwhile in an interview to local channel Khan said he was not planning to abort his studies and return back to Hyderabad. Though the incident has shaken me, I can not allow all my investments in terms of money and time to go waste,” he said.
He plans to complete his course in six months time and return to India.
