Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday placed under suspension Vivek Dube, Additional Director General of Police and Abraham Lincoln, an SP rank officer holding them indirectly responsible for the suspicious death of an armed Reserve police constable, P Mualinath.

The government found fault with Dube, the first such high ranking officer to be suspended, for sending Muralinath to Noida to work at his home.Dube who was Additional DGP (provisions and Logistics) and in charge of Octopus (AP government's anti-terror outfit) at that time, made an oral request to the Lincon, the Commandant of Special Armed Reserve at Amberpet, Hyderabad, to depute one constable to work at his home. And, the latter promptly obliged by sending Muralinath to Noida.

Muralinath who worked for two weeks at the residence of Dube was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Jaithpur, near Gwalior on July 29 and the local police performed his last rites on July 30. The family came to know of the death two days after the funeral.

Since then the family of the deceased and several Dailt organisations have taken to agitation path demanding justice for the family.

A government order issued in Hyderabad this evening said that disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against the two officers.
