An aphrodisiac is the name given to a substance that is believed to increase the sexual desire and drive. It is named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of sexual love and beauty. Herbs like catuaba and munirapuama are believed to increase sex drive. Items with good odour like henna too are believed to turn on the act.

Chocolate (tell that to Cadbury people), cherries, plums, celery (ah, to be a good old farmer!) are used to spice up sex life. Similar properties are given to banana as well as cucumber as they resemble the penis (what an association!).

Some wild sex uppers are believed to be Tiger bone (reason for Sarisika disaster), snake venom (eerie and dangerous), rhino horn (strange), jackal bile (weird, as it sounds). Fried junk food, alcohol in excess, tobacco is related to reduce sex drive. Alcohol reduces inhibitions.Though many articles will want us to believe otherwise, but strictly speaking, Viagra is not an aphrodisiac.
