At the end of Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon’s briefing, Ministry of External Affairs officials announced that the Pakistani delegation would hold a briefing for mediapersons. Spokesperson Tasleem Aslam turned up 10 minutes late, only to say that she wanted to 'touch base' with the Pakistani media that had arrived, and had "nothing much to say, really".

Responding to grumbles of protest, she said with a straight face: "This is not an April Fool's day joke; we don't believe in that."
