DMK

DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s two politically active sons, MK Alagiri and his younger brother MK Stalin, who are perceived to be locked in a succession struggle spent more than an hour together in Madurai on Monday.

The public reunion of sorts in Tamil Nadu’s temple town came on a day when their father said in party organ Murasoli that factional feuds — referring to a turf war in Thanjavur between party leaders TR Baalu and SS Palanimanickam — were making him “sleepless”. The last publicised meeting of the brothers in January.

Though Alagiri, Union minister, and Stalin, the DMK’s youth wing leader, were not available for comment, sources in the party said the younger brother made a peace move.
