Arjan claims billiards title

ARJAN ANAND won the junior billiards title in the 20th State Ranking Billiards Tournament organised by the Madhya Pradesh Billiards and Snooker Association at Yeshwant club.

In the finals, Arjan Anand defeated Abhimanyu Gandhi by 232-133 and Rahul Agarwal by 218-174 to bag the junior billiards title. Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Yeshwant Club chairman Hemant Doshi while club secretary Praveen Kasliwal presided over the function.

Rahul advances
RAHUL HERMON of the MCTE beat A K Gupta of the MCEME in straight sets to advance in the CTW triangular sports meet being held at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering. In volleyball, the Cadets Training Wing of Maceme beat CEME by 25-22, 25-19 and 25-16. In hockey, the Cadets Training Wing of CME defeated MCEME by 2-1. The round robin league matches have been completed. CTW MCTE and MCEME will clash in the finals.

Laurence, SVN win
LAURENCE SCHOOL and Sarafa Vidya Niketan won their respective matches to advance to the second round of the interschool U-19 cricket tournament organised by Christian Eminent Higher Secondary School at Tulsinagar grounds on Thursday.

Laurence School beat Saraswati Vidya Mandir by 7 wickets. Saraswati Vidya Mandir batted first and scored 74 runs. In reply, Laurence School scored the required runs losing just three wickets.

In the second match, Sarafa Vidya Niketan thrashed New Digamber Public School by 108 runs. Amay Kante batted well to score brilliant 83 and Ankur Palanpure scored useful 28 to help their team pile up 150 runs. In reply, New Digamber School managed just 42 runs losing the match by 108 runs.

Manoj is ‘Mr Indore’
MANOJ JAGIR won the ‘Mr Indore’ title in the Indore divisional bodybuilding competition organised by the Bodybuilding Association of Indore. Wrestler Kripashankar Patel was the chief guest and distributed the prizes.
