John Abraham is preparing to “bulk” up to play a tough cop in Vipul Shah’s next.
John Abraham has reportedly been finalised for Vipul Shah’s remake of the Surya-Jyothika Tamil superhit Kaakha Kaakha. Nishikant Kamath, maker of films such as Dombivili Fast and Mumbai Meri Jaan, will call the shots on the John-Asin starrer.
While Abraham was unavailable for comment, his friend confirmed the news. “Yes, John has given his nod to the project. Vipul and Nishikant plan to start the film in May. John has started preparing for the role of a cop who is a part of the special squad battling organised crime.” The film will have plenty of hardcore action and the actor needs to “bulk” up to play the character of a cop who can crush people who push him too far.
Genelia D’Souza was first choice for the female lead but she’s already working with Abraham in Hook Ya Crook, so Shah opted for Asin.
