ALLEGING failure of State intelligence in getting timely information about the existence of an arms factory in Bhopal, the Congress on Saturday demanded resignation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on moral grounds.

The factory with suspected Maoist links, unearthed at Satnami Nagar area here on Thursday, had been operational for over a year but the Government had no knowledge about it, State Congress spokesmen P C Sharma told reporters here demanding a CBI probe into the case.

The factory was raided by the district police following receipt of information from the Central intelligence agency about existence of the factory at Bhopal.

It shows failure on the part of State intelligence department, he alleged and claimed that senior Congress leaders had warned  the government about such clandestine activities. He demanded Chouhan and Industries Minister Babulal Gaur, in whose constituency the factory was located, to tender their resignations on moral grounds. He said the party legislators would raise the issue it in the next Assembly session.
