To provide impetus to education facilities in far-flung areas, 60 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) based at Samote distributed furniture items to Government High School at Targai. The initiative was under the aegis of Uniform Force as part of 'Sadbhavana' activities.

More than 200 students of Badhal Gali and its adjoining areas are enrolled in the school.

When the state education department reportedly neither provided furniture nor funds to make purchases, people and school staff contacted the army for help.

After consultation with higher authorities, the commanding officer decided to provide furniture items to school authorities. The villagers and the school authorities appreciated the army's efforts.

The officer interacted with the students and motivated them to work hard for a bright future in the highly competitive world. He assured that the army was determined to improve education standards of students in remote villages of the area.

"The army is our saviour in these far-flung areas. We are thankful to them for looking after us," sarpanch Shah Mohammad said.
