Army personnel halted the North East Express at gunpoint and went on rampage after an officer’s suitcase was found missing from the Delhi-bound train at Rangiya station in Assam’s Kamrup (Rural) district on Sunday, official sources said.

Colonel A.K. Singh saw that his suitcase was missing at Rangiya station and the jawans accompanying him forced the engine driver at gunpoint not to move the train further.

They then went looking for the lost baggage and refused to let the train move. The train resumed its journey after rail officials assured them that all efforts would be made to trace his missing suitcase.
