Arrangements for stranded Amarnath pilgrims reviewed

A team of senior government officials today reviewed the arrangements made by the administration for the convenience of Amarnath pilgrims stranded here for the last two days due to inclement weather conditions.

A team of senior government officials today reviewed the arrangements made by the administration for the convenience of Amarnath pilgrims stranded here for the last two days due to inclement weather conditions.

Divisional Commissioner of Jammu Pawan Kotwal and Deputy Commissioner of Jammu M K Dwivedi visited the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and interacted with the pilgrims.

Assuring the pilgrims that the state administration is making all efforts for their smooth journey, Kotwal directed the officers concerned to make adequate arrangements for them so that they do not face any inconvenience.

The Divisional Commissioner was apprised that at present about 5000 pilgrims have got stranded in Jammu and have been accommodate at Yatri Niwas and other community centres.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the community centres and took stock of the arrangements there.
