Two suspected SIMI activists, arrested recently for attending a training camp of the baned outfit at Wagamon in the district in 2007, would be taken to the camp site next week to elicit more details, police has said.
P A Shaduli (27) and Muhammed Ansaar (26) were produced before the judicial first class magistrate court at Kanjirappally near Kottayam on Saturday, which remanded them to 14 days judicial custody. They were later lodged in a sub-jail in Kottayam, police said.
The special police team had brought to Kottayam from a jail at Gulbarga in Karnataka, where they had been arrested in connection with several other cases.
They will be taken to Kolahalamedu and Thangalpara areas in Wagamon, police said.
Before the duo, three other SIMI activists were also taken to Wagamon in connection with the ongoing enquiry on SIMI camps in the past few months.
