It’s a case of a snub for a snub. Two months after Lara Dutta opted out of Anil Kapoor’s home production saying that she doesn’t want to be paired opposite Arshad Warsi, she tasted payback. Warsi, who was asked to anchor the IIFA Awards to be held at Yorkshire, turned down the offer at the last moment when he came to know that Dutta would be his cohost.
“Warsi will be at the event.. but only as a spectator,”says a source.
Well, the story of the snub began when Dutta agreed to be a part of Anil Kapoor’s project. Apart from himself ,Kapoor had cast Akshaye Khanna . Later on, Kapoor decided to rope in Warsi in his place. When Dutta came to know about this development, she opted out.
“I guess,Duttawanted to play it safe. After all, she’s not had a rocking film career so far. She wants to work with big actors. That’s why when Warsi was roped in, she decided to move out,” informs the source.
Amrita Rao has now replaced Dutta for the lead role. Neeraj Vora is directing the yet untitled project.
