Security wise, the Commonwealth Games Federation is concerned but not worried at the moment. "We should not jump into conclusions right away," Mike Hooper, the CEO of the CGF, told HT after the firing incident near Jama Masjid on Sunday.

The CGF, however, has maintained that as always security is a concern and that it will remain a concern till the last athlete board a flight. However, there has been no query from the Games Associations on the subject. "We can't say much as the matter is under investigation," he said. "We can't pre-judge what the motive was."

The CGF will be relying on the report to be submitted by its security advisor and then take up the matter with the Organising Committee if something else needed to be done. "Only if, I repeat if, after going through the report, there is a need to change plans, we will recommend them to the OC," said Hooper. The OC was prompt to come out with a statement saying the incident will not have any impact on the Games. Bhanot dismissed reports that CGAs have been calling up OC to check on the security. “No one has shown any concern and we have fool proof plans in place,” he said.
