Hindustan Times and its sister publication Mint have bagged six trophies, across the production and photography categories — at the 8th Asia Media Awards 2009 given by IFRA, the world’s leading association of newspaper and media publishing.
IFRA has over 3,000 members in about 70 countries.
Hindustan Times is one of the winners of the Best In Print Quality Award (Circulation Over 150,000 Copies) category, while Mint is a winner of the Best In Print Quality Award (Circulation Below 150,000 Copies).
Hindustan Times, Mumbai, photographer Manoj Patil is one of the winners in the Best In Photojournalism Award (News Photography) category.
His colleague Kunal Patil is a winner in the Best In Photojournalism Award (Feature Photography) category, as is Hindustan Times’ Jaipur photographer Himanshu Vyas.
HT Media’s business newspaper, Mint, will be awarded in the Best In Special Coverage Award (Newspaper Special Section).
Three awards have been announced in each category, though the rankings will be announced only at the presentation ceremony on September 24 in Chennai.
