I am 18year old girl studying in class XIIth. I am doing my studies privately. I want to be an animator. I first want to pass out from school and then want to go for further studies. But the problem is that my parents want me to do my XIIth and animation simultaneously and I am not comfortable with that.
Regarding this I have spoken to my parents many times but they are not able to understand my problem. They are pressurising me to join as soon as possible.
Due to this I am very stressed and sometimes I find myself very alone and I think that I should just run away from here. I believe that I will not be able to concentrate on both of the things, as I am not very bright in studies. Please help me regarding this problem.
It is surprising to note that the degree of clarity with which you have discussed your problem with me, has not been able to sensitize your parents regarding your problems and apprehensions.
I have a feeling that on this issue the family has not been able to sit down and discuss matters. Probably the discussions were 'short-circuited' by one or the other member of the family.
Not because they are not your well wishers but probably as all of you are anxious, apprehensive and ambitious at the same time. Take help from one of your sincere teachers to sensitize your parents.
If your school has a councellor then make sure you meet him/her. A better communication should resolve the issue.
