Assam Police announced a comprehensive plan of setting up Nagarik Committees and Community Liaison Group (CLG) for better coordination with the people.
Assam Police on Thursday announced a comprehensive plan of setting up Nagarik Committees and Community Liaison Group (CLG) for better coordination with the people.
Director General of Police Sankar Barua told reporters that the CLG in the district level, a component of its urban defence plan, would be constituted as per recommendation of United Nations Development Project at three levels which include the police station level, the Superintendent of Police office and the DGP's office.

The aim of these committees would be to involve the members of the public towards evolving an orderly and disciplined society in liaison with police to create a better security system.
