Fourteen people were killed and dozens wounded in a triple car bombing in southwest Baghdad on Tuesday, the latest attack to rock the war-torn Iraqi capital, medical and security sources said.

The bombs packed into three vehicles exploded within minutes of each other on a main avenue in the largely Shiite neighbourhood of Bayiha, which is normally bustling with people in morning business hours.

Fourteen people were killed in the blast and another 60 people wounded, said a medical source at Baghdad's Yarmuk hospital.

A security source, also speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the same toll from the attack.
