Atal sports festival concludes

ATAL SPORTS festival organised by Indore School Games Federation concluded at Atal Bihari Khel Parisar recently. More than 75 schools and 2000 students took part in the festival. Various games like table tennis, karate, volleyball, marathon skating, cricket and bodybuilding events were held at the event. In table tennis girls? category, Janvi won the first position and Prachin Jain secured second spot.

Various games like table tennis, karate, volleyball, marathon skating, cricket and bodybuilding events were held at the event. In boys’ category, Yashwant Mahar stood first and Prakhar Sisodia second. Karate competition took place for the age group of 5-18 years boys and girls. In volleyball, New City Convent won the first position and Vidya Vijaya School bagged the second position. In marathon skating, Siddhant of Cornel Academy (Mhow) won the first position, Suyesh Patwa of Sri Sai Academy (Mhow), Pankaj Kumar and Ashish Bhavin of St Paul School won the first position in their respective age groups.

Vidya Vijay won the first position in cricket and Yuva Bharati won the second. In bodybuilding Umar Ansari won the Mr Indore title. Chief guest Bhawarsingh Shekhawat distributed prizes and Harinarayan Yadav was the special guest patron for the federation. Munnalal Yadav was also present at the prize distribution ceremony.

MP eves beat Delhi
HOSTS MADHYA Pradesh and Jharkhand in girls and Delhi and Pondichery in boys won their respective matches in the 52nd National School Hockey Tournament for U-19 years played in the City on Tuesday. In the girls’ event: MP defeated Delhi by 60, Tamil Nadu lost to Jharkhand by 9-0, Punjab routed IEPSC by 12-0, Chhattisgarh beat Kerala by 8-0, Uttar Pradesh beat Kerala 4-0 and Uttarakhand beat Jammu and Kashmir 9-0. In the boys’ event: Delhi beat Jammu Kashmir by 10-0, Pondicherry beat Andhra Pradesh 3-0, Chandigarh beat Maharashtra 3-0 and Rajasthan beat IEPSC 3-0 to strengthen their position in their respective groups.

Sri Sathya Sai annual sports day
ANNUAL SPORTS Day of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar concluded at their premises. Students participated in PT displays, athletic and march past. Chief guest Kulvinder Singh Gill distributed the prizes. Kritika Naphade and Poorvi Parswal conducted the programme and Pavi Jain proposed the vote of thanks.

Scholars Yard sports meet
ANNUAL SPORTS meet of Scholars Yard School concluded recently. Chief guest Umesh Mishra and school director Prakash Nandekar gave away prizes to the winners of various events.

Chess tournament
GUJARATI SCHOOL, Ramkrishna Mission and Emerald Heights International School won the one-day chess tournament in their respective age groups. The contest was organised by Bairagi Brothers Chess Training Centre at Abhay Prashal.

New Digamber sports meet
ANNUAL SPORTS meet at New Digamber Public School concluded at their premises recently. Various events were organised and school director Sudhakar Medke distributed prizes to the winners and runners-up.
