Team MRF's Gaurav Gill won seven out of eight stages on the final day of International Rally of Queensland here in an effort to grab as many bonus points as possible after retiring from the rally on the previous day.
"Yesterday's event was really a big disappointment, but today I wanted to prove a point to everyone about my speed," said Gill. "I drove at the best of my capacity today and it was a good learning experience for me for the future events in the championship," he added.
Gill was forced to retire his Skoda on the first day after a broken wire stopped his Skoda Fabia S2000's engine.
Earlier, his teammate Chris Atkinson won the rally. The Australian is a leading contender for the overall title Atkinson and produced yet another dominant performance.
Atkinson won by a margin of 1:57.9 seconds ahead of defending champion Alister McRae of Scotland.
