ATM machine stolen with Rs 4 lakh cash stolen
An automated teller machine (ATM) machine of the Punjab National Bank containing `4 lakh was stolen in the wee hours on Friday from Nanak Nagar area here.
An automated teller machine (ATM) machine of the Punjab National Bank containing `4 lakh was stolen in the wee hours on Friday from Nanak Nagar area here.
Around five to six persons decamped with the ATM machine of installed at Nanak Nagar.
Superintendent of police (SP) South Rahul Malik said: "The preliminary investigation has revealed that incident took place around 2am and the crime was committed by five to six persons."
"The ATM machine was recovered from Bishnah, around 20 km from the crime scene, in the afternoon on Friday. But the cash vault is missing from the machine. About `4lakh cash was stored in the vault," the SP said.
Sources said that police had got the pictures of accused from the close circuit camera installed in the ATM machine and were identifying the accused.
"Police have started investigations and we will soon catch the offenders," the SP said.
