Noted film director Shyam Benegal on Sunday condemned the racial attack on Indian students in Australia.
“There is nothing new in the series of attacks on Indian students in Australia. They invite our bright students for admission in their universities, but there are no arrangements for their safety and security which is totally unfair,” Benegal told reporters in Indore.
He said that Australian government should ensure security of the Indian students at any cost.
Commenting on Amitabh Bachchan’s decision to refuse an honorary doctorate degree from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Benegal said it was the right step in the current scenario.
Bachchan has rejected the honorary doctorate by the Australian university as mark of his protest against the racial attacks on Indian students.
