Awadh, Deep Jyoti excel in taekwondo

AWADH BIHARI of Bharat Public School and Deep Jyoti Bhaskar of Marthoma School won (in different categories) the district-level taekwondo competition organised by the District Education Department in the City recently. 

Awadh won the first prize in 60-65 kg group while Deep was the winner in 80-85 kg group. Nitin Baghre of Marthoma bagged the second prize in 80-85 kg group. Vinay Yadav has trained these students. Deep and Awadh were selected for the state-level competition to be held in Bhopal. District Sports Education Officer R K Paliwal has congratulated the winners.

Inter-school swimming today

AN INTERSCHOOL swimming competition will be held at Sayaji Club on Tuesday. The competition will be held in three categories. The first group will consist of students up to class VIII and events include freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke.

Students up to class X and XII will come under the second and third groups respectively. Freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly events will be held for these groups.

Sayaji Club will award medals and trophies to the winners. The prize distribution ceremony will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday. For further information, interested students can contact Sayaji Club at the numbers 4003636 or 4022444.
Tennis ball cricket team announced

THE MADHYA Pradesh tennis ball cricket team for the senior national tennis ball cricket tournament to be held at Vijaywada (Andhra Pradesh) was declared recently. Andhra Pradesh Tennis Ball Cricket Association will organise the tournament from November 2 to 5.

Madhya Pradesh Tennis Ball Cricket Association president Radheshyam Biyani and secretary Chandrakant Sharma informed that Mitesh Sharma was appointed captain of the team. The team for the tournament includes Ashish Nagar, Mansur Khan, Pawan Choudhary, Gagan Deep, Yogesh, Sharad Pandey, Sayad Mansuri, Ujjwal Dubey, Rakesh, Tushar, Krishnakant, Khurshid and Totaram.
