Demanding early resolution of the Ram temple issue, five

sadhus

have gone on an indefinite fast at the

samadhi

of former Ramjanmbhoomi Nyas chairman Ramchandra Das Paramhans on the Saryu river banks.

Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti, who is a disciple of Kalki Maharaj, may also join the fast, sources said.

The sadhus began the fast on Monday night under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Mandir Vivad Nivaran Samiti.

Security arrangements around the resting place had been stepped up in view of the fast, officials added.
