The 15th annual Britannia Awards will honour Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood this year by presenting him with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, the most prestigious award given by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Los Angeles.

Eastwood, who began his acting career in the 1950s, has directed more than 25 films and won Oscars for best director and best picture twice, for Million Dollar Baby in 2004 and Unforgiven in 1992, reports Contactmusic.

Eastwood is currently producing and directing Flags of Our Fathers, the life stories of the six men who raised the flag at The Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in WWII.
