Low-cost carrier Bahrain Air, which is on an expansion drive in India, has launched daily flights between the Gulf country and Mumbai.
The airline already flies to Kozhikode and Kochi and the Mumbai-Bahrain launch is its third flight.
"Starting non-stop services from Mumbai is a part of our strategic outlook for the Indian market. I see enough growth in the market here for me to expand," Bahrain Air Director Commercial Operations Bart Schellens told reporters in Mumbai.
The airline aims to cater to both the business as well as the general income group with premium and economy classes.
Bahrain Air operates a fleet of eight Airbus 319 and 329 and plans to buy six Airbus 320 by 2011.
