‘Banana republic’ remark criticised

Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, on Monday deleted his Facebook account following a controversy over his status message: “Mango people (aam aadmi) in a banana republic.”

Arvind Kejriwal-led IAC, which has accused Vadra of making gains on questionable deals with DLF, demanded an apology from him for mocking the common man. “Mango men would prove to be nemesis for the ‘powerful’,” Kejriwal tweeted.
