The MSRDC will file its reply on the allegations that the ‘connectors’ linking the Bandra Worli Sea Link with the Worli sea face doesn’t have environmental clearances.
“We have every document available with us to prove that the link bridge or connector has environmental clearance,” said a senior MSRDC official. The link bridge connects the sea link to the main road. The MSRDC had made a minor change in the alignment of this link bridge at the Worli end after fishermen objected. “Even the new alignment, where the link bridge has been shifted by a few degrees after consulting the fishermen, received environmental clearance,” added the official.
More than a year after the 5.6-km sea link was opened for the public, residents from nearby housing societies filed a petition in the high court. They said their RTI queries had revealed that ‘there is no reference made by the MSRDC or clearance given by the MoEF for the realignment of the sea link and constitution of the connectors in front of Pratiksha building’.
