Banerjee, Singh win recurve olympic round finals

Rahul Banerjee and Mangal Singh won the men's recurve olympic round finals of the national rankigng prize money archery tournament in Kolkata.

In the first olympic round final, Banerjee defeated Jayant Talukdar 104-101 to win the honours at the SAI Eastern centre archery ring.

In the second final, Mangal Singh emerged champion getting the better of W Ranjan Singh (Jr) 111-106.

In women's recurve, the seasoned Dola Banerjee and L Bombayla Devi won the finals in contrasting styles.

The first final saw the talented Bombayla prevail over Chekrovelu Swuro 102-04, while Banerjee survived a strong challenge from Punya Prabha 103-101 to claim the second final.

The third and last final in the event for both men and women would be held on Sunday.

The overall champions would be decided after taking into account the cumulative scores of the participants in FITA and each of the olympic rounds.
