Bangladeshi caught while trying to exfiltrate to Pakistan

Alert BSF troops take into custody a Bangladeshi national when he was trying to exfiltrate to Pakistan via Nikki Tawi area, between RS Pura and Akhnoor sectors.

Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Thursday apprehended a Bangladeshi national trying to cross over to the other side at the International Border (IB) in Nikki Tawi area of Jammu district.

Alert BSF troops took him into custody around 0230 hours on Thursday when he was trying to exfiltrate to Pakistan from this side via Nikki Tawi area, between RS Pura and Akhnoor sectors, he said.

Identified as 27-year-old Mohammad Shafiq, the troops recovered Rs 100 in Indian currency from his possession, he said.

After preliminary questioning, Shafiq will be handed over to police for further investigation, the spokesman added.
