After three days of blockade, the 110-km Batote-Kishtwar highway was opened for vehicular movement on Sunday afternoon.

Doda and Kishtwar districts remained cut off from other parts of Jammu and Kashmir due to landslides that left over hundreds of vehicles stranded at various places.

There was a massive landslide in Assar-Baggar belt of Doda district and a large portion of the road was buried on Friday.

According to reports, the traffic authorities with the help of General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF), police and civil administration cleared landslides at Baggar village of Doda district, some 25 km from Batote.

There are several commuters who are still struck in both sides of road and are camping either at Udhampur or Jammu.
