BCA takes dig at Kirti Azad
The Bihar Cricket Association flayed the Kirti Azad-led Association of Bihar Cricket for security lapse during an exhibition match played in Patna on Monday involving star players like Virender Sehwag.
The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) on Wednesday flayed the Kirti Azad-led Association of Bihar Cricket (ABC) for security lapse during an exhibition match played in Patna on Monday involving star players like Virender Sehwag.
Several players of the national cricket time including Sehwag's opening partner Gautam Gambhir and Praveen Kumar had a narrow escape when unruly fans breached the security cordon to have a glimpse of their stars and also clashed with police.
BCA Chairman Abdul Bari Siddique said, "The incident exposed the tall claims of Azad who was running the state's cricket through remote control from Delhi."
Siddique also alleged that Azad used the event, organised to raise money for the Chief Minister's fund, to gain political mileage.
"Azad has been exposed among cricket lovers of the state as he tried to take political mileage by putting his name and photo on posters and banners instead of cricketers," he said.
Union Railway minister Lalu Prasad heads the BCA.
