AFTER READING the story ‘This powerlifter needs cash muscle’ on the front page of Hindustan Times dated April 17, an Indore-based family came forward to help Rajesh Shukraware. Sanitary worker Rajesh Shukraware needed immediate financial help to participate in the Asian Powerlifting Championship to be held in South Korea from May 1. The family gave him Rs 30,000.

Rajesh needed Rs 66,000 to cover for his air fare and stay in South Korea.   Except Dilip Suryavanshi of CI Builders no one came forward to help him in Bhopal. Suryavnshi gave Rs 10,000. His coach Jitendra Jaisawal also collected Rs 10,000 for him.

This newspaper reported that Rajesh had to virtually beg in New Market on Saturday to collect the amount. When Rajesh came to know that the family from Indore wanted to offer him financial help, he went there and met the family members. He will leave on April 19 to report in New Delhi.
