A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two teenage boys near the Karnataka capital, police said.
The incident occurred at Bannerghatta on Saturday when the girl was playing with her brother and the teenage boys.
The boys, both aged 16, took the girl to an isolated place and allegedly raped her. Her brother rushed home and informed his grandparents about the incident, police said.
The girl was immediately taken to a doctor for medical examination by policemen who visited her soon after learning about the incident.
"A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code," said Ramesh Bhanot, the superintendent of police of Bengaluru (Rural).
“Both the accused are minors,” he said.
While one boy was arrested soon after the incident, the other was arrested later, media reports said. They were sent to juvenile custody and a case was registered against them.
