India will play their best combination in the one-day international series against Sri Lanka, according to selection panel chief Dilip Vengsarkar.
Talking to the reporters on Thursday evening, Vengsarkar said: "Our best combination will play the four ODIs against Sri Lanka. It will be the side that will play in World Cup."
"We would like to see them together before the cup begins in West Indies," he said.
Confirming that former captain Sourav Ganguly will be rested, he said, "We want to see Robin Uthappa play."
He confirmed that Virender Sehwag would have to wait some more time before getting a look in. "Sehwag will have to wait for his chance. We are also looking at some more players."
Yuvraj Singh and Anil Kumble are set to make comebacks in the Chennai match, the third one-dayer against the West Indies, Saturday. Yuvraj is returning after recovery from a ligament tear on his knee. Irfan Pathan will make a comeback for the last ODI in Vadodara.
