There’s no denying the fact that it’s very easy for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to cast whoever he wants to for his film. But its not the same when it comes to producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He is still looking for a suitable male actor for his next production Chenab Gandhi, directed by his assistant Vibhu Puri, which also toplines Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan.
The latest news floating in filmdom is that Bhansali approached Shahid Kapoor but the latter refused to be a part of the film. The sources close to the production house reveal that Kapoor doesn’t want to be paired opposite Vidya Balan as they recently acted in Kismet Konnection.
According to the source, the initial plan was to replace Harman Baweja with John Abraham after the debacle of Victory. Reportedly, John refused to be a part of the project as girlfriend Bipasha Basu prevailed upon her boyfriend to turn down a role opposite Balan.
Bhansali was supposed to begin the first schedule of Chenab Gandhi in April end or May. But now that the male lead is still not in place, the shooting has been postponed to November. Latest on the project, to show his involvement, Bhansali has also decided to score music for the film. Hope this trick works in favour of the production house and he gets an actor soon.
