A city-based Bhojpuri film actress threatened to end her life at the senior superintendent of police's office on Sunday afternoon, alleging that the top cop refused to meet her.

The police said the victim had filed a rape case at the Sector 39 police station in June. She alleged that she had been getting life-threatening calls since then, but the police are not taking action.

"In June, I had filed a rape case against Pramod Tyagi, Sukhbir Bhati and Praveen Agarwal at the Sector 39 police station. I live with my 10-year-old son and am scared as I have been getting regular threats. Even after lodging a police complaint, no action has been taken. I came here to meet the SSP, but even he is not taking the matter seriously. I will end my life at his office," the woman said.

The woman was detained. However, she was released later on the assurance that immediate action will be taken in the case. "We are investigating the case and are trying to ensure her safety," said a senior police officer.

According to sources, there are three cases against the actress, which are also being investigated.
