BHOPAL PLAYERS shone in the boxing and taek-wondo events on the inaugural day of the 52nd State-level School Games in the City on Friday. Ujjain and Indore dominated the show in kho-kho.
Bhopal registered victories in the 45 to 48-kg, 48 to 51-kg and 51 to 54-kg boxing events. In the 45 to 48-kg category, Rohni Prasad of Bhopal defeated Nand Kishore of Bhopal while Sahil Khan of Bhopal overcame Manoj of Gwalior and Praveen Kumar got the better of Asif Khan in the 51 to 54-kg category.
Meanwhile, Jabalpur registered two wins in the 42 to 45-kg category with Bhushan Rao defeating Jasveer of Rewa and Mukesh
Sharma beating Junaid of Indore.
In taek-wondo, Bhopal stood first in the 54-kg and 62-kg categories. Alok won the 54-kg category while Vikas bagged the honours in the 62-kg fixture.
In kho-kho, Ujjain, Indore and the Tribal Welfare Department dominated the proceedings. Bhopal registered a win against Rewa while Ujjain, Indore and the Tribal Welfare Department shared two wins each.
