Bhopal gas tragedy: What happened on December 2, 1984

On the night of December 2-3 in 1984, Bhopal saw a tragedy that has no parallel in the world's industrial history. The leakage of the deadly methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas from Union Carbide India Ltd's (UCIL) factory created a dense toxic cloud over the city and killed thousands and injured lakhs.
