BHOPAL GIRLS on Thursday created history by defeating strong Indore after a long gap of ten years in the state-level under-15 cricket tournament being played in Guna. Bhopal defeated Indore by ten wickets.
After defeating Rewa by 60 runs on Wednesday, Bhopal girls were determined to repeat the performance against strong Indore. However, Bhopal suffered a minor setback when skipper Shweta Mishra lost the toss. But good bowling and fielding by the Bhopal team restricted Indore to 63 runs. Kritika Charve and Shweta claimed two and one wicket respectively. It was the smallest total of the tournament made by any team.
Chasing the total, Shweta Mishra played scored quick runs. She scored 30 runs in 26 deliveries including five boundaries. Kritika scored 12 runs. Bhopal won the match without losing wicket in just seven overs. Bhopal team manager NM Shaikh said that he had been waiting for this win for a long time.
