HOSTS BHOPAL on Wednesday won the All-India Inter-SAI Hockey Tournament that concluded at SAI Centre, Bishenkheri, defeating Kolkata 2-0.

Bhopal demonstrated skillful hockey. Yuddhvir opened the account for Bhopal in the 40th minute through a reverse hit into the net. Taj sounded the scoreboard in the 60th minute to complete the tally. The first half ended goalless.

The second half saw some good moves from Kolkata team but the forwards wasted the opportunities. Director General Sports Authority of India (SAI), Ratan P Watal, distributed prizes to the teams. On the occasion, central region SAI director A K Sharma, SAI director (operations), B V V V S Narsingh Rao, former Olympian Jalaluddin Rizvi, international hockey coach Y S Chauhan, Jaiveer Singh, Deepak Gaud and others were present.
