AMID TIGHT security, playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan put Bhopalites in a crazy and foot-tapping mood on Sunday evening while belting out one hit number after the other. The programme held on the grounds of Bhopal School of Social Sciences was organised by Idea as part of their Idea Rocks India-07 series.
The sprawling grounds were full and there were large number of people assembled at the gate. In view of the unruly incident at their recent show in Kanpur, the organisers were extra vigilant and only pass-holders were allowed entry. Policemen were even sat amidst the audience to prevent commotion.
The evening started with comedian Naveen Prabhakar taking the stage. He mimicked a host of actors including Dilip Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Shahrukh Khan and drew loud applause from the mammoth crowd.
Raghav Sachar, the young musician who has scored a hit in the just-released Kabul Express, then took over. This versatile singer can play 24 instruments. He started with the number ‘Banjar Ret Hai, Banjar Aasman’ and then showed his acumen on various instruments.
After the peppy number ‘Baba Main Tu Aa’ he rendered a flute solo followed by a guitar piece. The Punjabi track ‘Tu Tak Tu Tak’ was followed by the robust number Kabul Fiza from the movie Kabul Express. The stage was stylishly decorated and the songs were interspersed with display of fireworks.
Sunidhi Chauhan, sporting a white shirt and purple jacket, entered the stage singing ‘Main Hoon Mast’ even as the crowd got into a mood of revelry. She then sang Ishq Kabhi Kariyo Na from the film Musafir.
The song Aa Aa Aashiqi Mein Teri from China Town, Ishq To Ishq Gale Se Laga Le from Dus further set the audience in a dancing mood. But what really pepped up the crowd was ‘Crazy Kiya Re’ from Dhoom-2.
